Does stopping smoking mean that I’ll put on weight?
People have often tried and failed to stop smoking a number of times before they see me for a smoking cessation session. Often they tell me that had put on weight when they tried to stop before. With hypnotherapy it can be different.
I use hypnotherapy strategies that directly address this concern.
Because lung function improves as an ex-smoker, you’ll feel generally healthier and have more energy than you did as a smoker. So the only way that you’d put on weight would be if you substituted extra food or sugary drinks or alcohol for the old smoking habit. We talk about this in the session and make sure you don’t change one unhelpful habit for another.
After kicking the smoking habit using hypnosis, people can find that they are more in control of other habits too, like snacking.
